This genuine Indigenous-designed orange t-shirt is crafted in Canada through the collaboration of Muin Clothing and Stanfield’s Ltd to commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The Eagle holds a unique significance as it is believed to be the only creature to have made contact with the Creator. Despite being a bird, it symbolizes the connection of the Mi’kmaw people to their identity and their bond with the Creator. The eagle feather is regarded as extremely sacred; under colonial law, a Mi’kmaw individual can use an eagle feather for the “Sacred Eagle Feather Affirmation,” serving a similar purpose as swearing on a Bible.
A portion of the proceeds, specifically $1 from each t-shirt sold, will support the Nu-mi-quai-ni-mak Fund, also known as the “I Remember Them Fund,” managed by the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR).
